The AX-212/3V is a variable-curvature line array sound source featuring a three-way system, comprising two 12" woofers, two 6.5" mid-range drivers with low harmonic distortion, and three 0.8" waveguide-coupled high-frequency drivers. The low-frequency section utilizes a bass-reflex enclosure design, incorporating MMSS technology (Mirror-Image Mechanical Suspension System) and a forced-air convection, low-power compression circuit. MMSS technology ensures symmetry between the positive and negative excursions of the moving components, thereby achieving significantly lower harmonic distortion. The mid-range drivers employ 2" aluminum voice coils paired with nylon-fiberglass formers to further minimize harmonic distortion. The high-frequency drivers feature PM4 diaphragm technology—a system utilizing advanced polymer materials never before applied in the audio industry—which establishes a stronger bond between the dome and the voice coil former; this enhancement allows the drivers to perform more reliably under sustained high-power operation, delivering a more natural and authentic sound.
